I was born a Catholic, but drifted away into a not-very-spiritual existence for some years, and am now epxloring Christianity from a private perspective, rather than through regular church-going.
I guess I’ve gone from believer to atheist to believer, and find myself more comfortable away from a traditional ‘church community’, although I do still attend services every now and then in lots of different churches.
I find churches and cathedrals to be peaceful, tranquil, inspiring places, but I prefer to undertake this faith journey away from the conformity of a congregation.
Together with friends, and online, I am exploring the Bible and its relevance to modern living, and seek relaxation and solace through prayer and reflection.
This will chart my explorations and investigations, and experiences of re-discovering God, the Bible, prayer and community. Join in, ask me questions, share your experiences, be funny.
I’ll also keep an eye on political news, especially where faith and politics mix. That’s a whole other journey – from idealism to pragmatism.
